Hazarmaveth; son of Joktan and southern Arabian region
Hazarmaveth was both a personal name (son of Joktan in Genesis 10) and a territorial designation for a region in southern Arabia. The name survives in modern Hadramaut (or Hadramawt), a historic region in Yemen. As the fifth in descent from Shem through Joktan, Hazarmaveth represents one of the Semitic groups that settled the Arabian peninsula. The territory was home to the Hadramitic kingdom in antiquity.
