Rama, sarmiento, brote; rama de vid, a veces figurativo de culto idolátrico
Sustantivo femenino que designa una rama o brote, típicamente de la vid. Los espías en Escol cortaron una זְמוֹרָה con un solo racimo de uvas (Nm 13:23), imagen vívida de la abundancia de la tierra. Ezequiel lo usa literalmente de la vid (15:2) y de manera enigmática de un objeto ritual acercado a la nariz en culto idolátrico (8:17). Isaías 17:10 habla metafóricamente de 'sarmientos de un dios extraño', aludiendo a prácticas cultuales foráneas. Nahúm 2:2 aplica el plural figuradamente al pueblo de Israel.
