Señor, amo (arameo); título oficial que significa 'comandante' o 'jefe administrativo' en el Imperio persa
Palabra aramea que significa 'señor' o 'amo', cognada del hebreo בַּעַל. En Esdras aparece en el título 'beel teem' (señor del decreto o comandante), designando a un funcionario persa encargado de la correspondencia y la administración, posiblemente un gobernador provincial. El título se usa tres veces en Esdras 4 (vv. 8, 9, 17) en cartas oficiales relativas a la reconstrucción de Jerusalén. Funciona como título burocrático dentro de la jerarquía imperial persa, no como nombre propio.
