Ur (de los caldeos); la antigua ciudad mesopotámica, tierra natal de la familia de Abraham
La célebre ciudad mesopotámica de Ur de los caldeos, identificada con la actual Muqayyar en el sur de Irak, antiguo centro de culto al dios lunar. Las cuatro referencias bíblicas presentan a Ur como el punto de origen de la familia de Abraham: Taré partió de Ur con Abram (Gn 11:28, 31), y Dios le recuerda después a Abraham que lo sacó de Ur de los caldeos (Gn 15:7; Neh 9:7). Este topónimo ancla toda la narrativa patriarcal del llamado divino y la migración.
