This Aramaic noun means fruit, the produce of trees or plants. All three occurrences appear in Daniel 4, in Nebuchadnezzar's dream of the great tree. The tree's 'fruit was abundant' (v. 12), providing food for all. When the heavenly watcher decrees the tree's felling, he commands, 'Shake off its leaves and scatter its fruit' (v. 14). The tree's description repeats: 'whose fruit was abundant' (v. 21). Daniel interprets the tree as representing Nebuchadnezzar himself—his kingdom's prosperity and provision depicted as abundant fruit.
