Hand, hands — the physical body part, also expressing agency, power, custody, and divine action
Greek cheir ('hand') carries an enormous range of usage in the New Testament, from the concretely physical to the deeply metaphorical. Jesus heals by laying on hands (Mark 6:5), washes his disciples' hands metaphorically through foot-washing (John 13), and shows his pierced hands as proof of resurrection (Luke 24:40).
