Hymenaeus, a false teacher who shipwrecked his faith
Hymenaeus (named after the Greek god of marriage) was a heretical teacher who abandoned sound doctrine and damaged the faith of others. Paul mentions him twice, both times in stark warning. In 1 Timothy, he's one of two men Paul handed over to Satan for discipline so they might learn not to blaspheme. In 2 Timothy, he's linked with Philetus in teaching the resurrection had already happened, thereby upsetting the faith of some believers.

Sentidos
1. sense 1 This proper name (from the wedding god Hymen) identifies a false teacher appearing in 1 Tim 1:20 and 2 Tim 2:17. Paul 'handed over' Hymenaeus to Satan for discipline after he made shipwreck of faith. Later paired with Philetus, Hymenaeus taught that the resurrection had already occurred, spreading destructive heresy that corrupted believers' understanding of eschatology and undermined hope in bodily resurrection.
