Habitar, morar en tienda, tabernacular; establecer residencia entre los hombres, evocando la presencia divina del tabernáculo.
Verbo que significa 'plantar tienda' o 'habitar,' cargado de profundo peso teológico procedente de la tradición veterotestamentaria del tabernáculo. Su uso más célebre aparece en Juan 1:14 — 'el Verbo se hizo carne y habitó (ἐσκήνωσεν) entre nosotros' — donde la imagen de la tienda evoca deliberadamente la presencia de la shekiná de Dios en el tabernáculo del desierto. En Apocalipsis, el verbo describe la presencia protectora de Dios sobre su pueblo (Ap 7:15; 21:3) y la morada celestial donde habitan los santos (Ap 12:12; 13:6). La expresión española habitó en tienda preserva hermosamente el matiz tabernacular que se pierde en la mayoría de las traducciones modernas.
