Permanecer con, quedarse, continuar; persistir en un lugar, con una persona o en una actividad o compromiso.
Verbo compuesto (πρός + μένω) que significa permanecer con alguien, quedarse o continuar con constancia. Aparece en dos contextos distintos: las multitudes que han «permanecido con» Jesús tres días sin comer (Mt 15:32; Mr 8:2), y la exhortación de la iglesia primitiva a perseverar en la fe y la comunidad. Bernabé insta a los creyentes en Antioquía a «permanecer con el Señor» con firme propósito de corazón (Hch 11:23), y Pablo y Silas se quedan en diversas ciudades (Hch 13:43; 18:18). Transmite continuidad fiel, no mera permanencia física.
