Vino agrio, vinagre; bebida ácida barata usada comúnmente por los soldados romanos
Un vino ácido y áspero —no vinagre destilado, sino el 'vino ordinario' barato (posca) que los soldados romanos llevaban como bebida cotidiana. Las seis apariciones en el NT se encuentran en los relatos de la Pasión, donde se ofrece a Jesús en la cruz. El significado del gesto es debatido: en algunos relatos parece burlón (Lucas 23:36), mientras que en Juan 19:29 podría ser un acto de tosca misericordia para humedecer los labios del moribundo. El detalle está atestiguado en los cuatro Evangelios, convirtiéndolo en uno de los elementos más ampliamente corroborados de la crucifixión.
