Ley, ordenanza; especialmente la Torá mosaica, pero también la ley como principio o sistema
Νόμος es una de las palabras con mayor peso teológico del Nuevo Testamento. Derivada del verbo νέμω ('distribuir, administrar'), originalmente significaba 'costumbre' o 'convención' en el griego clásico, pero en la Septuaginta y el Nuevo Testamento se refiere de forma abrumadora a la Torá — la Ley de Moisés. Las cartas de Pablo exploran su función, sus limitaciones y su relación con la gracia con extraordinaria profundidad (Ro 3:21; 7:7-12; Gá 3:24). Con y sin artículo, νόμος puede designar el Pentateuco específicamente, todo el Antiguo Testamento o la ley como principio abstracto. Español ley lo traduce de manera uniforme.
