Lecho, cama; lugar para dormir o para las relaciones íntimas, tanto el lecho conyugal como las uniones ilícitas.
Denota primariamente una cama o lugar de descanso, pero en el NT se extiende desde el lecho literal donde los niños duermen (Lc 11:7) hasta el lecho conyugal como figura de la unión sexual (Ro 9:10; Heb 13:4) e incluso hasta el exceso sexual o el desenfreno (Ro 13:13). El abanico que va desde el español 'cama' hasta la expresión 'en lechos de inmoralidad' refleja fielmente esta amplitud semántica. La flexibilidad del término entre el descanso inocente y la intimidad le confiere una fuerza particular en la exhortación moral.
Sentidos
1. Lecho, cama — Cama o diván para dormir o descansar, y por extensión el lecho conyugal como metonimia de las relaciones sexuales. En Lucas 11:7 es un lugar literal de descanso compartido con los hijos. En Romanos 9:10, Rebeca 'tuvo lecho' (concibió) con Isaac — aquí κοίτη funciona como eufemismo digno para la relación marital. Hebreos 13:4 declara el lecho conyugal 'sin mancilla', mientras que Romanos 13:13 usa el plural para la promiscuidad sexual. 4×
