Testificar en contra de alguien, dar testimonio adverso, declarar como testigo contra un acusado
Este verbo significa dar testimonio o declarar en contra de alguien, especialmente en un contexto judicial. Aparece en las escenas del juicio de Jesús. En Mateo 26:62 el sumo sacerdote pregunta: «¿No respondes nada a lo que estos testifican contra ti?» En Mateo 27:13 Pilato le dice: «¿No oyes cuántas cosas testifican contra ti?» Marcos 14:60 ofrece un paralelo. El uso neotestamentario es consistentemente forense: testimonio dado contra un acusado en un proceso judicial, con la ironía de que Jesús guardó silencio ante las acusaciones.
Sentidos

Los tres usos aparecen en los juicios de Jesús —ante el Sanedrín y ante Pilato— donde testigos o acusadores «testifican en contra» de él.
