Velo o cobertura; usado figuradamente de la cobertura espiritual sobre la mente al leer el antiguo pacto
Designa un velo o cobertura colocado sobre algo para ocultarlo. Las cuatro apariciones neotestamentarias se concentran en un solo pasaje, 2 Corintios 3:13-16, donde Pablo recurre a la imagen de Moisés cubriéndose el rostro con un velo. El κάλυμμα se convierte en una poderosa metáfora de la ceguera espiritual: un velo cubre el corazón de quienes leen el antiguo pacto sin reconocer a Cristo. Cuando alguien se vuelve al Señor, ese velo es quitado, revelando la gloria transformadora del Espíritu.
