Joram (Jehoram), king of Judah, son of Jehoshaphat, ancestor of Jesus in Matthew's genealogy
Joram reigned over Judah during troubled times, marrying Athaliah (daughter of Ahab and Jezebel) and introducing Baal worship to the southern kingdom (2 Kings 8:16-24; 2 Chronicles 21). Despite his unfaithfulness, God preserved his line for the sake of the covenant with David.
