Sonido, ruido, estruendo; un eco o reporte reverberante
Forma tardía del clásico ἠχή, este sustantivo designa cualquier sonido reverberante, desde el rugido del viento hasta el bramido del mar o el estallido de una trompeta. En Pentecostés, un sonido como de viento impetuoso llena toda la casa (Hch 2:2). Lucas 21:25 habla del bramido del mar y las olas como señal apocalíptica. En Hebreos 12:19 describe el sonido aterrador de la trompeta en el Sinaí. La palabra también puede significar 'fama' o 'noticia' (Lc 4:37), donde la metáfora del sonido que se propaga capta cómo se difunden las noticias.
