Atemorizado, aterrorizado; que se halla en estado de alarma o pavor ante un suceso sobrenatural o abrumador.
Adjetivo que describe el estado de estar sobrecogido por el miedo, casi siempre como respuesta a un encuentro divino o sobrenatural. Las mujeres en la tumba vacía quedan aterrorizadas ante los mensajeros angélicos (Lc 24:5), los discípulos se espantan cuando Jesús aparece entre ellos (Lc 24:37), Cornelio mira con temor al ángel que lo visita (Hch 10:4), y Félix se alarma cuando Pablo razona sobre el juicio venidero (Hch 24:25). En Ap 11:13, los sobrevivientes del terremoto quedan aterrorizados y dan gloria a Dios. El término implica un pavor profundo, no un simple susto.
