Permanecer en, perseverar en; mantenerse firme en un compromiso o lugar
Compuesto de ἐν + μένω, este verbo intensifica la idea de permanecer enfatizando la interioridad: quedarse dentro de un compromiso, un lugar o un pacto. Pablo y Bernabé exhortan a los nuevos creyentes a perseverar en la fe (Hch 14:22), mientras que el propio Pablo permaneció dos años completos en Roma (Hch 28:30). El sentido pactual es más agudo en Hebreos 8:9 y Gálatas 3:10, donde la falta de permanencia en el pacto o la ley de Dios acarrea consecuencias. El español 'permanecer' capta bien la persistencia durativa que el verbo exige.
