Los Magos traen δῶρα al nino Jesus (Mt 2:11), mientras que en el Sermon del Monte, Jesus instruye al adorador a dejar su δῶρον en el altar y primero reconciliarse con su hermano (Mt 5:23-24), un pasaje que influyo en la practica liturgica cristiana primitiva. La palabra tambien cubre la ofrenda al tesoro del templo que Jesus critica cuando los fariseos declaran bienes como 'Corban, es decir, ofrenda dedicada a Dios' (Mt 15:5; Mr 7:11). En Hebreos, δῶρα aparece junto a θυσίαι como la formula estandar para ofrendas sacerdotales (Heb 5:1; 8:3-4).
