Galacia, región y provincia romana en el centro de Asia Menor
Galacia designa un territorio en el centro de Asia Menor, originalmente poblado por tribus celtas (galas) que migraron allí en el siglo III a.C. y que más tarde fue incorporado como provincia romana más amplia. Pablo fundó iglesias en esa región y les dirigió su Epístola a los Gálatas (Gál 1:2), además de organizar una colecta entre ellos (1 Cor 16:1). Primera de Pedro 1:1 incluye a Galacia entre las provincias cuyos destinatarios reciben la carta. En 2 Timoteo 4:10, Crescente parte hacia Galacia (algunos manuscritos leen 'Galia', es decir, Francia).
