Betsaida, pueblo junto al mar de Galilea asociado con varios discípulos y milagros de Jesús.
Topónimo que significa «casa de pesca» en arameo, referido a una población situada en la ribera norte del mar de Galilea o cerca de ella. Fue la ciudad natal de Felipe, Andrés y Pedro (Jn 1:44; 12:21) y escenario de eventos significativos, incluida la alimentación de los cinco mil (Lc 9:10). Jesús pronuncia un «ay» contra ella junto con Corazín por no haberse arrepentido a pesar de presenciar obras poderosas (Mt 11:21; Lc 10:13). El debate académico continúa sobre si existía una sola Betsaida o dos, pero el nombre se conserva de manera consistente en todas las tradiciones de traducción.
