ἀσέβεια designa la postura fundamental de irreverencia hacia Dios — no un acto malvado aislado, sino una disposición arraigada de impiedad. Pablo la introduce como blanco de la ira de Dios, revelada 'contra toda impiedad e injusticia' (Romanos 1:18), emparejándola con ἀδικία (injusticia) tal como hacían los escritores griegos clásicos.
