Senses
1. remember / recall (middle-passive) To call to one's own mind, to remember or recollect; the middle and passive voice. In Heb 10:32 believers are exhorted 'Remember' (Ἀναμιμνῄσκεσθε) the former days of suffering. In Mark 11:21 Peter 'remembering' (ἀναμνησθείς) the cursed fig tree, and in Mark 14:72 Peter 'remembered' (ἀνεμνήσθη) the word Jesus had spoken. In 2 Cor 7:15 Titus remembers the Corinthians' obedience. Glosses use reflexive/stative recall: arb تَذَكَّرُوا, heb זִכְרוּ/נִזְכַּר, hin याद–करो, kor 기억하라, spa Recordad.

2. remind (active) To call something to another person's attention, to remind someone of something; the active causative sense. In 1 Cor 4:17 Timothy 'will remind' (ἀναμνήσει) the Corinthians of Paul's ways in Christ. In 2 Tim 1:6 Paul says 'I remind' (ἀναμιμνῄσκω) Timothy to fan into flame the gift of God. Multilingual glosses consistently render with causative 'remind' forms: arb سَيُذَكِّرُ/أُذَكِّرُكَ, heb יַזְכִּיר/מַזְכִּיר, hin याद–दिलाएगा, kor 상기시키리라, spa recordará.
