Pf. 3 ms. חֵעֵז אִישׁ רָשָׁע בְּפָנָיו Pr 21:29 a wicked man maketh firm (sheweth boldness) with his face; so 3 fs. הֵעֵ֫וָה פָנֶיהָ 7:13 (Ges§ 67 dd Köi. 372) she maketh bold her face.

† פָּצַח vb. cause to break or burst forth, break forth with (cf. Arabic فَضَخَ break, crush; Ethiopic ፈጽሐ shatter; Syriac ܦܨܚ is be joyous, hilarious);— Qal Pf. 3 pl. פָּֽצְחוּ רִנָּה Is 14:7 they have broken forth with joyous shout; Impf. יִפְצְחוּ רִנָּה 55:12 (of mts.); Imv. fs. פִצְחִי רִנָּה 54:1 (of Zion); mpl. פִּצְחוּ ר׳ 44:23; 49:13 Qr (> Kt יפצחו; of mts.); abs. פִּצְחוּ Is 52:9 ψ 98:4 (both + רַנְּנוּ). Pi. break bones in pieces: Pf. 3 pl. פִּצֵּ֑חוּ Mi 3:3.

† I. רָגַע vb. disturb (NH Hiph. move to and fro; perhaps transp. from Arabic رَعَجَ disturb, BAES 8);— Qal Pf. Jb 26:12 בְּכֹחוֹ רָגַע הַיָּם; Pt. cstr. (Ges 65d. 116 g, x), Je 31:35 = Is 51:15 רֹגַע הַיָּם וַיֶּהֱמוּ גַלָּיו. Hiph. denom. from רֶגַע make a twinkling, only 1 s. Impf. cohort. וְעַד אַרְגִּ֫יעָה לְשׁוֹן שָׁ֑קֶר and while I would twinkle (= only for a moment: cf. Jb 20:5) is the false tongue (opp. תִּכּוֹן לָעַד), Pr 12:19 (cf. De); and כִּי אַרְגִּ֫יעָה אֲרִיצֶנּוּ מֵעָלֶיהָ I will twinkle and (= I will in a moment, Ges§ 120 g; cf. Hi) chase them away from it, Je 49:19 = 50:44. (Ba§ 86 as subst. = רֶגַע, of the very rare type ʾaqtîl; -ה as Ges§ 90 f.)

† III. רָגַע vb. harden (Ethiopic ረግዐ: coagulate, congeal: poss. development of √ رَجَعَ, v. II. ר׳);—Qal, pf. in Jb 7:5 עוֹרִי רָגַע וַיִּמָּאֵס my skin hardens, and (then) runs again (II. מָאַס), of the ulcers in elephantiasis.
