Conj-w  |  8× in 1 sense
Plenty, abundance; the state of having more than enough, especially of grain and food supply.
A masculine noun denoting plenty or abundance, used almost exclusively in the Joseph narrative of Genesis 41 to describe Egypt's seven years of extraordinary agricultural surplus. Pharaoh's dream of fat cows and full ears of grain pointed to this saba -- a superabundance of food that Joseph wisely stored against the coming famine. Spanish 'abundancia' and 'la abundancia' mirror the Hebrew precisely. Outside Genesis, the word appears in Proverbs 3:10 promising that honoring God brings barns bursting with plenty, and in Ecclesiastes 5:11 observing that abundance of goods means abundance of those who consume them.

Senses
1. plenty, abundance, fullness A state of plenty or material abundance, particularly of food and grain. Seven of eight occurrences cluster in Genesis 41 (vv. 29, 30, 31, 34, 47, 53), all describing Egypt's seven years of extraordinary harvest surplus in the Joseph narrative. Spanish uniformly renders it 'abundancia' (abundance), while French and German equivalents ('plenty,' 'Ueberfluss') confirm the consistent sense. Proverbs 3:10 extends the promise of saba to those who honor God with their firstfruits, and Ecclesiastes 5:11 offers a wry counterpoint: when goods increase, so do those who consume them.
