1. Reqem (proper name) — A Hebrew proper name (רֶקֶם) referring to persons and a Midianite city. In 1 Chronicles 2:43–44 it is a descendant of Caleb; in Numbers 31:8 and Joshua 13:21 it is one of the five Midianite kings slain by Israel, and also the name of a city. The two over-split clusters differ only in the presence or absence of the conjunction waw (and-Reqem vs. Reqem) which is a grammatical surface variation, not a semantic distinction. Evidence: eng 'Rekem / and Reqem,' spa 'Requem / y Requem,' arb 'رَقَمَ / وَ رِقِم,' kor '레겜 / 레켄,' swa 'Rekemu / na Rekemu,' hin 'रेकेम / और रेकेम.' All consistently render the same proper noun. 6×
