Jehoshaphat's celebration (2 Chr 7:9) and Nehemiah's restoration (Neh 8:18) both culminate in such an assembly. Prophetically, however, God can reject the very assemblies he ordained: Isaiah declares 'I cannot endure iniquity and solemn assembly together' (Isa 1:13), and Amos thunders that God despises Israel's festivals (Amos 5:21).
