Adj-ms  |  1× in 1 sense
siege work, palisade; military fortification or entrenchment
This word appears only in Isaiah 29:3, where God declares He will 'encamp against you all around and lay siege with a palisade.' The noun denotes some type of siege work—possibly a palisade, tower, or entrenchment used in attacking a fortified city. The parallel term 'siegeworks' confirms the military context. God ironically becomes the besieger of His own city Jerusalem, turning divine protection into divine assault due to the people's hypocrisy.

Senses
1. sense 1 English 'with-a-siege-work' and Spanish 'con-puesto' (with post/position) both suggest military installations. Isaiah's oracle reverses expectations—the LORD who defended Jerusalem now encircles it with siege equipment, treating His city as an enemy fortress to be reduced (Isa 29:3).
