lishkah -- chamber, room, or hall; a side room in a temple, palace, or public building for storage or assembly
The feminine noun lishkah ('chamber, room, hall') designates a room or suite of rooms attached to a larger public or sacred building, used for eating, storage, priestly duties, or assembly. Its 48 occurrences cluster in three main contexts. First, in Samuel it denotes the room where a sacrificial meal takes place (1 Sam 9:22). Second, in Jeremiah it refers to temple side-chambers where wine is offered to the Rechabites (Jer 35:2, 4) and where Baruch reads the scroll (Jer 36:10, 12, 20-21). Third, and most numerously, in Ezekiel's temple vision (Ezek 40-46) and in Ezra-Nehemiah and Chronicles, lishkah designates the many chambers of the temple complex used for priestly habitation, Levitical stores, and treasury purposes. The word may be cognate with Greek lesche ('public hall'). Spanish camara, French chambre, and German Kammer render it consistently.

Senses
1. chamber or room A room, chamber, or hall within a temple, palace, or public building complex, serving various functions including sacrificial dining (1 Sam 9:22), prophetic encounter (Jer 35:2-4; 36:10), storage of tithes and offerings (Neh 10:37-39; 13:4-9), and priestly quarters (Ezek 40:17; 42:1-13; 1 Chr 9:26, 33). The architectural specificity varies from a single dining hall in early narratives to entire suites of thirty chambers in Ezekiel's temple vision. Spanish camara, French chambre, and German Kammer converge on a single 'chamber' concept across all 48 occurrences. 48×
