1. this, that, thus (Aramaic demonstrative) — Aramaic demonstrative pronoun meaning 'this,' 'that,' or (with preposition ke-) 'like this, thus.' Extremely common in the Aramaic portions of Ezra and Daniel, functioning as both an attributive and predicative demonstrative. In Ezra 4-5, it appears dozens of times modifying nouns like 'this house,' 'this city,' 'this decree.' In Dan 2:10, no king has asked a thing like this (kidnah). In Dan 2:43, referring to 'that' kingdom. In Dan 5:25 with conjunction 'and this' (udnah). In Jer 10:11 (the sole Aramaic verse in Jeremiah), used adverbially as 'thus' (kidnah). All forms -- bare, with ke-, with waw -- are inflectional variants of a single demonstrative lexeme.
