It appears exclusively in elevated poetic registers — Job, Psalms, Isaiah, and possibly Deuteronomy 33 — functioning identically to standard beth with locative ('in'), instrumental ('with'), or directional ('into, through') force. Job 9:30 speaks of washing 'with snow-water,' Job 16:4-5 of strengthening 'with my mouth,' and Isaiah 25:10 of Moab being trampled 'in' its own place. The suffix -mo is an old enclitic particle preserved in archaic poetry, cognate with similar expansions in Ugaritic and other Northwest Semitic languages.
