Biziothiah (uncertain place name or 'and her daughters')
A textually uncertain element in Joshua's town list, possibly a place name "Biziothiah" or possibly a corruption of "and her daughters" (villages). Appearing in Judah's territorial allotment near Beersheba, the text is suspect because Nehemiah's parallel list has "and her daughters," a standard formula for a town with dependent villages. Modern scholars generally prefer the Nehemiah reading, suggesting scribal error corrupted the original in Joshua.
