1. Beer-sheba (city) The city of Beer-sheba (בְּאֵר שֶׁבַע), a prominent settlement in the Negev marking the traditional southern boundary of the land of Israel, associated with the patriarchs Abraham and Isaac who dug wells and made covenants there (Gen 21:31–33; 26:23–33). The name means 'well of the oath' or 'well of seven.' 34×
