Arvad was a Phoenician island city located north of Tripoli, mentioned alongside Sidon in Ezekiel's lament over Tyre. The modern Ruad preserves the ancient name. Assyrian records confirm the city as Aruada, an important maritime center supplying rowers and warriors to Tyre.
