1. sash, girdle (priestly vestment) — A woven sash or girdle (אַבְנֵט) worn as part of the priestly vestments, tied around the waist over the tunic. Used exclusively in ritual/cultic contexts for the garments of the high priest and the ordinary priests, and metaphorically of the sash of authority transferred to Eliakim (Isa 22:21). All auto-split clusters represent the same item in different morphosyntactic frames: with article (הָאַבְנֵט 'the sash'), with conjunction (וְאַבְנֵט 'and a sash'), with preposition (בָּאַבְנֵט / וּבְאַבְנֵט 'with the sash'), with suffix (אַבְנֵטְךָ 'your sash'), and in plural (אַבְנֵטִים 'sashes').
