N-NNS  |  2× in 1 sense
something made or created; a work, product, or poem
A noun meaning anything made or done—a work, creation, product, or composition. Classical Greek used it for artistic works (including poems—our word 'poem' derives from this root) and crafted objects. Paul employs it theologically for God's creative work. In Romans 1:20, God's 'eternal power and divine nature have been clearly perceived in the things that have been made'—creation testifies to the Creator. In Ephesians 2:10, believers are 'His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works'—we are God's crafted masterpiece, His new creation, made for purpose.

Senses
1. sense 1 That which has been made or created, whether the original creation or new creation in Christ. In Romans, 'the things made' (creation itself) reveal God's invisible attributes to all humanity—nature testifies to the divine craftsman. In Ephesians, 'His workmanship' describes redeemed believers—we are God's artistic product, His crafted work in Christ, fashioned for the good works He prepared. The German 'Werke' and French 'chose faite' emphasize the made-ness: these are products of creative action, evidence of the Maker's hand.
