1. not (negation particle) — The standard objective negation particle negating indicative statements and factual assertions, contrasted with mē which negates subjunctive/volitional expressions. Spanish 'no' is consistent across all uses. Hindi 'नहीं' (not) and 'न' (not, literary) are stylistic variants of negation. Arabic 'لا/لَا' is invariant. Korean '아니/아니다' (not/is-not) are inflectional forms. Swahili 'si' (is-not) and 'hapana' (no/not-there) are contextual variants. The prohibitive uses (S73511, 'Not' in commandments with Swahili 'Usi-') still function as the same factual negation particle ou rather than the volitional mē.
