1. bridegroom — A man about to be or recently married; the groom at a wedding. Used in the NT of the bridegroom in Jesus' parable of the wedding feast and of Christ as the messianic bridegroom (Matt 9:15, 25:1-10, Mark 2:19-20, Luke 5:34-35, John 3:29).
