Adj-NFS  |  9× in 1 sense
Full, filled; describing something brimming with contents, whether literal (a vessel) or figurative (moral qualities).
An adjective meaning full or brimming, applied to both physical containers and moral character. A vessel full of sour wine is offered to Jesus at the cross (John 19:29), and a net hauled ashore is full of 153 large fish (John 21:11). More striking is the figurative usage: Jesus denounces the scribes as 'full of hypocrisy and lawlessness' (Matt 23:28), and Paul catalogs humanity as 'full of envy, murder, strife' (Rom 1:29). The Spanish 'llenos' and German 'voll' both preserve this dual physical-moral range.

Senses
1. full Completely filled, whether with physical contents or abstract qualities. The literal usage appears in John 19:29 (a vessel full of vinegar) and John 21:11 (a net full of fish), where the emphasis is on capacity reached. The figurative extension -- 'full of hypocrisy' (Matt 23:28), 'full of envy and murder' (Rom 1:29), 'full of cursing and bitterness' (Rom 3:14) -- is more theologically charged. Spanish 'llenos' and French 'plein' reflect the same semantic breadth. James 3:8 describes the tongue as 'full of deadly poison,' combining physical imagery with moral force.
