1. share in, participate, have fellowship — To share in, partake of, have fellowship or communion with someone or something. This single broad sense covers all NT uses of koinoneew: contributing to the needs of the saints (Rom 12:13), sharing in the spiritual blessings of the Gentiles with Jerusalem (Rom 15:27), the Philippians sharing in Paul's ministry of giving and receiving (Phil 4:15), the children sharing in flesh and blood (Heb 2:14), sharing in Christ's sufferings (1 Pet 4:13), the student sharing all good things with the instructor (Gal 6:6), not sharing in another's sins (1 Tim 5:22), sharing in the evil deeds of the wicked (2 John 1:11). All multilingual glosses confirm a unified semantic range: Arabic yushariku/sharakuu, German teilhaben, French communier, Hebrew mishtattefim/hishtattfu, Hindi sahbhagi, Korean hamkke, Spanish compartir/participar.
