To mend, restore, complete, or prepare; to bring something or someone to a state of full readiness or wholeness.
Carries the vivid image of setting a broken bone or mending torn nets — the act of restoring something to its proper, functioning state. In the Gospels, James and John are found καταρτίζοντας their nets on the shore (Matt 4:21), while Paul urges the Corinthians to be 'perfectly joined together' in the same mind (1 Cor 1:10). The word scales from the mundane repair of fishing gear to God's cosmic act of 'framing' the universe by his word (Heb 11:3). 1. complete, perfect, equip — To bring to completion, equip fully, or perfect — used of God's work in maturing believers or of the call to be united in one mind.
