N-GMS  |  13× in 1 sense
Harvest; the act of reaping, the harvest season, or the gathered crop, often used figuratively of God's final ingathering.
Refers to the reaping of grain — the season, the act, or the crop gathered. In the agricultural world of first-century Palestine, harvest was the climactic moment of the farming year, and the NT writers exploit this resonance fully. Jesus uses it literally when he says 'the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few' (Matt 9:37-38; Luke 10:2), yet even there the metaphor of evangelistic ingathering is unmistakable. In the parable of the wheat and tares (Matt 13:30, 39), harvest becomes an explicit image of the final judgment. Revelation 14:15 brings the metaphor to its apocalyptic conclusion. The translations converge on a single agricultural term across languages: Spanish cosecha/siega, French moisson, German Ernte.

Senses
1. harvest The reaping of crops, the harvest season, or the gathered produce, employed both for the literal agricultural event and as a rich figurative image of God's eschatological ingathering or final judgment. Jesus commissions laborers for the harvest (Matt 9:37-38), the parable of the tares identifies harvest as 'the end of the age' (Matt 13:39), and Rev 14:15 depicts the earth ripe for reaping. Multilingual glosses uniformly point to a single agricultural concept (French moisson, German Ernte, Spanish siega/cosecha). 13×
