Entrance, entry; both the act of entering and the means or right of access
Denotes both the act of entering and the access or welcome one receives upon arrival. Paul and his companions speak of the 'entrance' they had among the Thessalonians -- meaning their reception and welcome (1 Thess 1:9; 2:1). Hebrews 10:19 declares that believers have bold 'entrance' into the holy places through Jesus' blood, and 2 Peter 1:11 promises a 'richly provided entrance' into the eternal kingdom. John the Baptist proclaims repentance before Christ's 'entrance' -- his public appearing (Acts 13:24). German 'Eingang' and French 'entree' cover both the spatial doorway and the abstract right of access.
