1. fishing net — A net used for catching fish, the primary tool of the Galilean fishing trade; all twelve NT occurrences appear in Gospel narratives of Jesus calling disciples or miracle catches of fish. Singular and plural forms are simple number inflections of the same referent. Spanish 'red/redes,' Hindi 'jal/jalon,' Arabic 'shabaka/shibak,' Korean 'geumul,' Swahili 'wavu/nyavu.'
