1. form, pattern, design — The visible form, shape, or architectural pattern of a structure, used almost exclusively in Ezekiel's temple vision (Ezek 43:11) where the prophet is instructed to show Israel the form (tsurat) of the temple, its forms/patterns (tsurotav), and its complete design so they may observe and reproduce it. Also appears in Ps 49:14 for the bodily form of the dead that wastes away in Sheol. Arabic ashkal (forms/shapes), German Form/bilden (form/shape), Spanish forma (form), Hindi rup/aakriti (form/appearance), Korean hyeongsang (form/figure). The Ezekiel occurrences include a ketiv/qere variant (tsurotay vs tsurotav) that represents a scribal variant, not a different sense. All auto-clusters are inflectional or textual variants (construct, with suffixes, ketiv reading) of the single meaning 'form, visible shape or pattern.' 6×
