1. lawless / wicked — Morally depraved, wicked, transgressing divine law; used substantively for criminals, evildoers, or the eschatological 'Lawless One.' In Mark 15:28 and Luke 22:37 Jesus is 'counted among the lawless' (ἀνόμων) fulfilling Isa 53:12. In Acts 2:23 Christ was crucified by the hands of 'lawless ones' (ἀνόμων). In 2 Pet 2:8 Lot was tormented by 'lawless' (ἀνόμοις) deeds. In 2 Thess 2:8 the eschatological 'lawless one' (ἄνομος) is revealed before the Lord's return. In 1 Tim 1:9 the law is laid down 'for lawless ones' (ἀνόμοις). Glosses reflect moral wickedness: arb أَثَمَةٍ/الأثيمُ, heb פּוֹשְׁעִים/עַוָּל, hin अधर्मियों, spa inicuo/sin–ley. 6×

2. without the Law (Torah-less) — Descriptive of those who do not possess or are not under the Mosaic Law; used relationally rather than pejoratively. In 1 Cor 9:21 Paul four times uses ἄνομος/ἀνόμοις to describe his missionary strategy of becoming 'as one without law to those without law' in order to win them, while clarifying he is not 'without God's law' (ἄνομος θεοῦ). The multilingual glosses consistently reflect this non-pejorative sense: arb بِلا–ناموسٍ, heb חֲסְרֵי–תּוֹרָה ('lacking Torah'), hin व्यवस्था–हीनों ('law-less ones'), kor 율법–없는–자들, spa sin–ley ('without law'). 4×
