Jb GrMonatsschr. 1887, 410 and PerlesAnalekten. 69 proposes נִבְכֵי נ׳ sources of rivers (cf. 36:16); Wetzst Hoffm Bu מַבְּכֵי נ׳ (not elsewhere) with similar meaning. 3. fig. of י׳s favour ψ 46:5.���On נַהֲרַיִם ending appar. du., v. ארם" dir="rtl" >אֲרַם; Tel Am. Na-ri-ma, Naḫrima (WklTelAm.40), and Egyptian Nhrina (WMMAs. u. Eur. 249 ff.) point however to orig. ending ִים; this inconsistent with view of EMeyGesch. § 180 that ַיִם here a locative ending (cf. Ba§ c. Anm. 1 BuhlGes 12), v. also Di Gn 24:10.

† II. כְּבָר n.pr.fl. Kĕbār, a river (or perhaps a canal) of Babylonia, not at present identified, by wh. the exiles, among whom Ez. ministered, were settled; always in the phr. נְהַר כְּבָר Ez 1:1, 3; 3:15, 23; 10:15, 20, 22; 43:3 (cf. Sm Ez 1:1 DelPar. 47f., 184).

Di) מַעֲבַר (ה)יבק Gn 32:23 (where perhaps connected with אבק = יאבק); נַ֫חַל יַבּ׳ Dt 2:37, יַבּ׳ הַנַּחַל Dt 3:16 Jos 12:2, יַבֹּק Nu 21:24 (‖ אַרְנֹן, cf. Dt 3:16 Jos 12:2), הַיַּבֹּק Nu 11:13, 22 (in both, ‖ ארנון); it empties into Jordan from East, in latitude of Shechem; called (southern) boundary of Ammon Shiloh; N. border of Amorites, Nu 21:24 (v.
